Lufthansa cancels Frankfurt-Baku-Frankfurt flight after strike

The Germany airline Lufthansa has canceled flights on the Frankfurt-Baku-Frankfurt route scheduled for Feb. 24 due to a pilots' strike, the company's Baku office reported today.

Lufthansa pilots began a four-day strike Feb. 22.

Today's flight has been realized. The company will recommence flights Feb. 26.

Over 4,000 people are attending the strike that began 12:00 a.m. Berlin time. This is the largest protest held by Lufthansa staff in 10 years. Employees of the Lufthansa Cargo Logistics Unit and Germanwings budget airline are also attending the strike, Lenta.ru reported.

Lufthansa is offering customers who bought tickets before Feb.18 free transfer flights every other day until May 31. The airport of departure and destination cannot be changed.
