Turkish and Georgian PMs discuss investments

Attracting Turkish investments to Georgia was discussed in Istanbul during a meeting of Prime Minister Nika Gilauri and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The Georgian energy sector is of particular interest to the Turkish side. Turkish investments are mainly made to this sector, the Georgian PM said after the meeting with Erdogan.

Gilauri stressed that specific investment plans will be discussed during Erdogan's visit to Georgia in late May.

During his visit, the Turkish PM will open the Sarpi checkpoint on the Georgian-Turkish border, which will be located in the joint management of both countries. Its opening is scheduled for May 31.
