Agricultural products rise in price in Azerbaijan

In June, the production prices for agricultural products increased by 1 percent in Azerbaijan, compared to May, while during January-June increased by13.1 percent compared to the same period of last year, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee said.

Production prices in general for livestock products increased by 3.5 percent in June compared to the previous month, while in first six months increased by 11.2 percent compared to the same period last year.

Cattle in live weight fell by 0.3 percent, poultry in live weight and eggs - by 8.2 percent.
Production prices for cereals and legumes agricultural products decreased by 2.5 percent during the month, during the year - by 27.4 percent, vegetables and melons - fell by 3.3 percent (increasing by 3.5 percent during the year), perennial plants - remained the same (21.2-percent-growth per year).

Prices for forestry products in June remained the same during the month, during the year - decreased by 4.6 percent, fish and fish products rose by 2 percent, but decreased by 5.7 percent during the year.

In January-June 2011, the agricultural production in Azerbaijan increased by 6.2 percent compared to the same period of last year, including crop production - by 8.3 percent, livestock production - 4.8 percent.

The total cost of agricultural production based on actual prices in January-June amounted to 1.792 billion manat.

The cost of forestry products based on actual prices during this period hit 402,600 manat, fishery - 60,600 manat.
