A new ferroalloy industry is being established in Kazakhstan, ENRC PLC CEO Felix Vulis stated on Wednesday at the Expert-100-Kazakhstan fourth economic forum.
"A new ferroalloy production is being established instead of inefficient and outdated three shops of Aktobe ferroalloy plant. The most powerful melting furnaces in the world with designed capacity of 72 MW each will be launched here," he said.
Vulis reminded that the general problem of the mining complex of Kazakhstan is a significant depreciation of facilities in this field.
"Most of the Kazakh plants in this field were built half a century ago. They should not only be repaired and maintained, but also built again," he said.
According to him, a large-scale program for the phased reconstruction of one of the country's largest Aksu TPP Eurasian Energy Corporation is being implemented.
"To date, five out of eight power stations have been modernised. Installation of modern equipment allowed to increase its capacity by 15 per cent, and to lower emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere 30 percent," Vulis said.
Over the past five years, ENRC has invested more than $ 5.2 billion to modernization, renovation of facilities and purchase new equipment.
