Kazakh metallurgy group Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation PLC (ENRC) announced production results for the third quarter of 2012.

The company's aluminum production in the reporting period was 63,000 tons, consistent with the results of the third quarter of 2011.

Ferroalloy production in the reporting period increased by 0.5 percent to 440,000 tons. Ferrochrome production rose by 1.5 percent to 341,000 tons.

Alumina production increased by 0.2 percent to 429,000 tons.

Chrome ore extraction hit 1.184 million tons in the reporting period (1.5 percent increase), manganese ore extraction reached 796,000 tons (1.3 percent increase). Iron ore extraction decreased by 13 percent to 9.883 million tons.

According to ENRC, the company's revenues decreased sharply in the third quarter of 2012 compared to the corresponding period of 2011, largely due to lower selling prices for its principal commodities.

Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation (ENRC) is one of the leading diversified natural resources groups with integrated mining, processing, energy, logistical and marketing operations. ENRC production assets are mainly located in Kazakhstan. Moreover, the company operates in China, Russia, Brazil and Africa (the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, Mozambique and South Africa). ENRC is the world's largest producer of ferrochrome on the chrome content basis and one of the world's significant iron ore and alumina producers.
