Kazakh ENRC ups aluminum production in second quarter of 2013

Kazakh metallurgy group Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation PLC (ENRC) announced production results for the second quarter of 2013.

Kazakh metallurgy group Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation PLC (ENRC) announced production results for the second quarter of 2013 on Wednesday.

The company's aluminum production during the reporting period increased by 1.6 percent compared to the same period of 2012 to 63,000 tons.

Company's aluminum production in the first half of 2013 hit 124,000 tons compared to 125,000 tons in the same period of 2012.

Ferroalloy production in the second quarter of 2013 increased by 0.5 percent and amounted to 437,000 tons. Ferrochrome production rose by 4 percent to 342,000 tons.

Alumina production increased by 8.5 percent to 408,000 tons.

In the reporting period chrome ore extraction hit 1.22 million tons (3.7 percent decrease), manganese ore extraction reached 701,000 tons (6.5 percent decrease). Iron ore extraction increased by 9.9 percent to 10.874 million tons.
