The volume of construction work increased by 6.9 percent to 7.11 billion manat in Azerbaijan in January-November 2013 compared to the same period of 2012

The volume of construction work increased by 6.9 percent to 7.11 billion manat in Azerbaijan in January-November 2013 compared to the same period of 2012, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee reported.

According to the report, 66.2 percent of the total volume of construction work accounted for the primary construction, reconstruction and expansion, 17.74 percent - for overhaul, 2.9 percent - for current repair and 13.2 percent - for other construction work.
79.9 percent of the construction work was carried out by non-state construction companies.

100,600 people with nominal wages of 614.9 manat were involved in the Azerbaijani construction sector during this period, or 5.9 percent more than in the same period of last year

Alongside, the average salary in state-owned companies amounted to 500.8 manat (a 7.1 percent increase), private companies - 667.5 manat (with an increase of 2.6 percent).

The level of wages in the construction of buildings grew by 1.1 percent - to 560.9 manat in average, specialized construction (increased by 4.4 percent) - to 745.6 manat. In the field of civil construction, wages increased by 27.6 percent to 600 manat.

The official exchange rate is 0,7844 AZN/USD on December 19.
