Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev ordered to take measures for more affordable housing for the country's population.

"It is necessary to reconsider the approaches to rental housing construction," President Nazarbayev declared in an address to his nation. "Social rental housing will be built and delivered to the population in the long-term lease with the right of redemption."

However, he ordered to additionally increase funding for the rental housing construction by 180 billion tenge (KZT 180.91 = $ 1) for 2015-2016.

President Nazarbayev said that the housing as part of the new program will be directly delivered without mediators and with the maximumally-allowed lowest percentage.
