Azerbaijan investment company OJSC is considering proposals to establish new investment funds in the country, Executive Director of the Company Allahverdi Pashayev said May 25.
Pashayev said both foreign and local companies are interested in creating investment funds in Azerbaijan. At the same time, he refused to disclose details.
"The investment funds will mostly appear in the non-oil sector, including agriculture. Their focus will further depend on the proposals received by the AIC," Pashayev said.
Currently AIC is a shareholder of one of the investment funds - Caspian international investment company. This investment company was established in 2008, and the share of AIC here is 24.1 percent. Other shareholders of the investment company are Islamic Development Bank, Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector, Al Ahmar Group and AREF Investment Group.
