Turkish businessmen may establish textile production in Uzbekistan

Production of yarn skeins, latex and nitrile work gloves may be established together with Turkish investors in the Uichi district of Namangan region of Uzbekistan, Uzbek media reported referring to the results of visit of representatives of the State Committee of Uzbekistan for Investments to the region.

The experts formed a list of 34 new investment projects proposed for implementation in Kasansay, Namangan, Pap, Turakurgan, Uichi, Chartak, Chust and Yangikurgan districts.

It is planned to attract direct foreign investment worth $299.5 million to implement the proposed projects. Of these, six projects worth $60.7 million have already been implemented, with 10 worth some $117.3 million being developed and 14 worth $121.5 million being in prospects.

An investment hub will be created In the Fergana region to accumulate direct investments to the Namangan, Fergana and Andijan regions.

It was earlier reported that Japanese textile company YKK may open its office in Uzbekistan.
