Latvia has offered new logistics and distribution opportunities for Uzbek exports to Europe, Trend reports via Uzbek media.
Riga offered Tashkent to launch a regular railway container route.
"Recently, we handed over to the Uzbek partners specific proposals from Latvian Ministry of Communications and the state-owned company Latvian Railway to organize the regular container route Tashkent-Riga with the subsequent processing of cargo through the container terminal of the "Free port of Riga"," the ambassador of Latvia to Uzbekistan Mikhail Popkov said.
Latvian company SIA SV Gulbis will allocate funds for the construction of a modern transport and logistics center in the territory of JSC O'ztemiryo'lkonteyner. The center will provide services for sorting railway cars, loading and unloading cargo, its storage, registration, as well as marking.
