Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan to increase rail traffic

Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are planning to increase the volume of freight and passenger traffic on railway communications of the two countries, Trend reports with reference to the press service of Uzbekistan Railways.

On Friday, July 21, Hasnutdin Hasilov, Chairman of the Board of JSC Uzbekistan Railways, met with Chairman of the Board of JSC National Company Kazakhstan Railways Sauat Mynbayev.

The parties discussed prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation, as well as issues related to freight and passenger traffic and their safety.

In addition, the sides talked on creating additional benefits for the transport of transit cargo.

Currently, most of the rail shipments of goods from Uzbekistan to the world market are carried out through Kazakhstan.

The parties are constantly improving work to ensure traffic safety on the railways, since both countries are interested in increasing freight and passenger traffic.
