Asian Development Bank (ADB) has allocated technical assistance grant worth $500,000 for the implementation of a joint mission of Kazakhstan and the US, Trend reports with reference to press office of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.
The information was disclosed during the meeting of the Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Saparkhan Omarov with representatives of ADB and the United States Department of Agriculture.
The framework of the joint mission includes assessment of natural resources of Akmola region (Kazakhstan). The mission is to consist of experts from Michigan State University and National Agrarian Science and Educational Center of Kazakhstan.
The goal of the mission is to gather information on the condition of soil, water and climate changes in the region, to visit up to 50 local farms, to implement training for local scientists and farmers, to assess the needs of local laboratories in equipment and employees.
In January 2019 the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan and Asian Development Bank signed terms of reference for assessment of resource base for development of meat manufacturing.
