Some 100 new electric buses on Yutong brand of local manufacturing will be put into operation in Kazakhstan’s Nur-Sultan, Chairman of the Borad of Astana LRT Bekmyrza Igenberdinov said, Trend reports with reference to the press office of The Association of Kazakhstan Automobile Business.

He made the statement during the briefing on the topic.

Igenberdinov noted that electric buses are being purchased via DBK-Leasing within the framework of state program for renovation of the bus park with domestic production equipment. The timeframe of the leasing is seven years and the remuneration rate is seven percent annual.

According to him, the launch of the project will allow to increase payments to local budget via tax payments, create new work places both in buses manufacturing and use.

“The eco-friendliness of the buses is especially important, as well as the savings from their use, which will allow the bus parks to save up to 80 percent on abolishing of petrol use,” he said.

Yutong buses are equipped with lithium batteries of large capacities, which allows to increase the time between charging. The structure of the bus allows to charge buses only at night. This will provide for significant decrease of investments into infrastructure.
