BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 27

By Jeila Aliyeva - Trend:

The Dashoguz region of Turkmenistan intends to harvest 35,000 tons of rice, at least 63,000 tons of potatoes, more than 34,000 tons of onions, 58,500 tons of melons, Trend reports with reference to “Zolotoy Vek” (Golden age) newspaper.

The government creates special conditions for sowing a large number of crops in the country. In particular, the state allocates loans and land plots on preferential terms.

Furthermore, special warehouses are being built in the country for storing agricultural products and special agricultural machinery is being used.

Thus, earlier John Deere company delivered more cotton harvesting machines to Turkmenistan.

In August last year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental protection of Turkmenistan and John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG signed a memorandum for the development of telematic digitalization in the country's agro-industrial sector.

According to the document, in the next few years, John Deere and Claas brands will deliver special equipment for Turkmenistan.

Reportedly, agriculture in Turkmenistan is rapidly developing. It is one of the most important sectors of the country's economy. The main types of crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, and fruits.
