Afghanistan buys Turkmen diesel fuel

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 2

Entrepreneurs from Afghanistan purchased diesel fuel and total petroleum coke produced at Turkmenistan’s Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries in foreign currency during the tradings on the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan last week, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

In addition, entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan purchased polyethylene in foreign currency, while businessmen from Russia, China, the UAE, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Kyrgyzstan bought dyed terry products, knitwear, cotton fabric and yarn.

The total amount of transactions on the exchange in foreign currency exceeded $10.3 million.

Transactions in Turkmen manat were also concluded on the Turkmen exchange. Thus, entrepreneurs from China, the UK and the UAE purchased cotton yarn for a total amount of over 22.3 million manat ($6.4 million).

In total, 38 transactions were registered on the exchange over the past week.

The state commodity exchange of Turkmenistan was established on July 29, 1994. It is the most important agency of state regulation of export-import operations.
