Kazakhstan sees increase in transporting cargo via internal waters

Kazakhstan’s revenues from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via internal water transport amounted to 494.8 million tenge ($1.1 million) over 2020, which is 3.2 percent more than during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The revenue in Dec. 2020 amounted to 10.5 million tenge ($239,285).

The volume of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage transported via maritime and coastal transport during the reporting period amounted to 927,690 tons, which is 31.9 percent less compared to the same period of last year. December’s cargo transportation volume amounted to 48,820 tons.

Cargo turnover amounted to 62.1 million ton-kilometers which is 4.2 times more than during the same period of last year. Cargo turnover in December amounted to 0.3 million ton-kilometers.

In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 25.5 million tenge ($59,441) over 2020, which is 6.7 percent less than during the same period of last year.

December’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to over 100,000 tenge ($238).

The number of transported passengers amounted to 39,730 people, which is 13.5 percent less than during the same period of last year.

The number of passengers transported in December amounted to 510 people.
