BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 11. The number of industrial enterprises re-launched in Iran increased by 40 percent, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran and Head of Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization (ISIPO), Ali Rasoulian said at a press conference, Trend reports citing the ministry.

The deputy minister said that in total, the activity of 2,067 industrial enterprises were resumed in the country last Iranian year. As a result, 36,000 people were provided with jobs.

Rasoulian added that of the mentioned enterprises, the activity of 1,320 enterprises were resumed during the current Iranian government's term (which has been power since August 2021).

“Currently, there are 48,500 industrial enterprises operating in Iran's industrial parks, which employ about 1 million people,” he said.

The official also pointed out that there are more than 12,000 industrial enterprises (inactive) in the country.

According to the deputy minister, the activity of 1,600 enterprises for the last Iranian year were restored in the country's industrial parks.

Rasoulian emphasized that it is planned to resume the activity of about 2,000 industrial enterprises in Iran this year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023).
