BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 7. The value of Iran's mineral reserves was estimated at $27.8 billion, as a result of discoveries for 8 years (March 21, 2014 through March 20, 2021), Trend reports citing the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

According to the report, within the mentioned period, 977 million tons of new iron ore reserves, 496 million tons of new coal reserves and 182 tons of new gold reserves were discovered in the country.

Also, 14 million tons new of crude copper, and 6 million tons of new zinc and lead reserves were discovered over 8 years.

As a result of the discoveries, the reserves of mineral minerals such as salt, iodine, and others increased by 363 million tons, barite reserves - by 103 million tons, rare earth elements reserves - by 85 million tons, and bauxite reserves - by 17 million tons and stibium reserves - by 6 million tons.
