Iran shares import data for essential goods

TEHRAN, Iran, May 10. Some 4 million tons of essential goods were shipped into Iranian ports in the first month of the current Iranian year (started on March 21, 2022), Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO)’s Ports Affairs Director, Ravanbakhsh Behzadian, announced, Trend reports citing Mehr.

According to Behzadian, the significant shipments imported into Iranian ports included barley and oilseeds, sugar, edible oil, soy, and rice during the mentioned period.

The official said that the loading and unloading of commodities at Imam Khomeini Port stood at 19,412 tons from the beginning of the current year up to May 8.

In the mentioned period, 111 trucks, including 2,409 tons of commodities imported through Amirabad Port, 72 percent more than last year’s same period.

According to Behzadian, the loading of essential goods at Shahid Rajaie ports of Iran has exceeded 8,750 tons since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21) up to the date.
