BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 23. The activity of 1,320 manufacturing and industrial enterprises in the country has been resumed since the current government came to power in Iran (August 2021), Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran and Head of Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization (ISIPO), Ali Rasoulian said, Trend reports citing the ministry.

The deputy minister noted that a total of 40,000 people were provided with jobs as a result of resuming the activity of industrial and manufacturing enterprises.

Rasoulian added that at the end of the last Iranian year (March 20, 2022), the number of suspended enterprises in the country decreased by 15 percent, compared to the previous period.

“As a result of research conducted at the end of last Iranian year, a total of 12,067 inactive enterprises were identified in the country. Work is underway to restore them by signing agreements with banks and providing funds to the enterprises,” he said.

In addition, 3,300 enterprises have been identified in the country, operating at 50 percent below their manufacturing capacity. The focus is on increasing the manufacturing of these enterprises, as well as finding new export markets, the official pointed out.
