BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 11. The trade turnover between Iran’s Mazandaran Province in the north of the country and the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) amounted to 1.34 million tons worth $373 million, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), Supervisor of Mazandaran Customs Office Asgar Niknafas said, Trend reports citing Mazandaran Province Governor Office’s website.

“The trade turnover between Iran’s Mazandaran Province and the EAEU member states for the last year increased by 5 percent in value compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022),” he said.

Niknafas added that in total, about $52.7 million worth of goods were exported from Mazandaran Province to EAEU member states in the last Iranian year.

According to the official, $29.6 million worth of goods were exported to Russia, $17.6 million worth to Kazakhstan, $674,000 worth to Kyrgyzstan, and $4.71 million worth to the remaining member countries.

The official also pointed out that cement, mining minerals, dairy products, flowers, kiwi fruit and so on were the main exported goods from the province within the mentioned period.

Niknafas noted that at the same time, over $320 million worth of goods were imported to Mazandaran Province from the EAEU member states over the last year.

“So, approximately $246 million worth of goods were imported from Russia, worth $66.6 million from Kazakhstan, and worth $8.23 million from Belarus for the reporting period. The main imported products were grain, oilseeds, wood and wood materials, chemical products, etc.,” he said.

Overall, the value of Iran's non-oil exports amounted to more than $53.1 billion in the last Iranian year, which is an increase of 9.7 percent compared to the preceding year.

Also, the value of Iran's imports amounted to $59.7 billion for the last year. This is an increase of 12.5 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year.
