BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 3. Local bus production in Iran decreased by 17 percent during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2023), compared to the same period in the last year, Trend reports.
According to the data of the Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade, 306 buses were produced within Iran for 4 months, while in the same period of the last Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2022), Iran’s domestic bus output stood at 368 units.
In the 4th month of the current Iranian year (June 22 through July 22, 2023), Iran manufactured 57 buses domestically. This is 53 percent less than in the same month last Iranian year.
So, 120 buses were produced in the country in the 4th month of the last Iranian year (June 22 through July 22, 2022).
Overall, 1,391 local buses were produced in Iran within the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022, through March 20, 2023), which is an increase of 88 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 21, 2021, through March 20, 2022).
In total, 442,686 various vehicles (including passenger cars, pick-up trucks, buses and minibuses, vans, trucks, trailers, and so on) were produced in Iran for the first four months of the current Iranian year. This is an increase of 30 percent compared to the same period last year.
There are three giant car manufacturing companies, Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
