Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend / The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) intends to drill an appraisal well in the off-shore gas field Bahar-2, SOCAR reported. The well is a means to increase gas reserves in the field.
The company has already drilled the new well with a high debit in Bahar field. The well was drilled 4,100m in depth. Its daily debit makes up 190,000cu m and 25t of condensate.
In compliance with SOCAR's program, oil production in Azerbaijan will be doubled and by the end of 2008 will reach 8bln cu m.
