U.S. import 7,710 barrels of oil from Azerbaijan in January-May

In January-May of 2010, the U.S. imported 7,710 barrels of oil from Azerbaijan compared to 8.32 million barrels in January of 2009, the report of the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said.

In January-May of 2010, the U.S. imported 7,710 barrels of oil from Azerbaijan compared to 8.32 million barrels in January of 2009, the report of the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said.

In 2009, the U.S. imported 27.5 million barrels of oil from Azerbaijan compared to more than 26.8 million barrels in 2008. In 2007, the United States imported more than 20.6 million barrels of oil from Azerbaijan. In 2006 this figure was 9.7 million barrels of oil.

The main export route, through which Azerbaijani oil is transported, is the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, which delivers oil to the Turkish port of Ceyhan.
Azeri Light crude oil is also exported from the Georgian port of Supsa, delivered via the Baku-Supsa pipeline.

Oil is also exported from the Georgian Black Sea port of Batumi, where it is transported by railway from Baku, and from the port of Novorossiysk, delivered via Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline.
