SOCAR prepares to open gas stations in Ukraine

The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) plans to open a major network of gas stations in Odessa, Ukraine, in September. The move will mark the company’s official entry into the Ukrainian oil products market.

The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) plans to open a major network of gas stations in Odessa, Ukraine, in September. The move will mark the company's official entry into the Ukrainian oil products market.

According to SOCAR's Ukraine Office, one gas station has already started working in test mode in Odessa.

"The rest of the gas stations will be put into operation gradually," the office said.

According to Ukrainian media, the station began operating in test mode on Aug. 7.

The station sells high-octane gasoline from Romania and Lithuania, as well as EN590 standard diesel fuel.

SOCAR has purchased approximately 20 gas stations in Ukraine.
