Within the campaign, a highly skilled team of the center of cardiovascular diseases of the Central Hospital of Oil Workers conducts operation on hearts of seven residents of the region. This is an unique case, because such complex and unique operations are conducted in Shamakhi for the first time.
Among people who require professional medical intervention, there are young children with congenital heart disease, as well as citizens, forced to leave their homes as a result of Armenian occupation.
Such humanitarian actions, organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation over recent years for the treatment of Azerbaijani citizens, lead to recovery of people with serious heart problems.
Operations are conducted under the leadership of the head center of cardiovascular diseases of the Central Hospital of Oil Workers, candidate of medical sciences Rashad Mahmudov. He noted that in the medical-diagnostic centers, built in the regions, open-heart operations have been conducted over 168 patients, 500 patients underwent angiographic study, and these works are currently continuing.
"Today the first step was taken in the history of medicine in the Shamakhi region of Azerbaijan, which has an ancient history. We are proud that we are part of this history and the first to hold open-heart operation. We express our deep gratitude to the President of country, the leadership of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the leadership of SOCAR, and also to all those who are part of this history," said Mahmudov.
