A drilling unit of the "Turkmenneft" state concern received commercial flow of oil from the Western Goturdepe field, Balkan region, the company said.
The drillers drilled the production well No 1662 in West Goturdepe with a design depth of 4,300 meters.
"The well gives over 70 tons of high quality oil every day," a statement said.
About 8 wells instead of the planned 7 were drilled in the first six months.
At present, the "Turkmenneft" state concern develops 25 oil and gas fields. The enterprises are equipped with the latest technologies and equipment from leading manufacturers from US, Germany, China and Russia.
