The Geophysics and Geology Unit of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) has started drilling two structural-exploratory wells in onshore areas of Shikhgaya and Suleiman-Akhtarma, the Unit reported.
The depth of one well is 1,100 meters, and the second 850 meters, respectively.
Also, the Unit has completed work on the development of well #1A on the Shikhgaya area. As a result of research, several gas streams of industrial significance have been found here. The well was transferred to the Azneft Production Unit after conducting certain work.
As a result of work on the development of well # 4, commercially significant volume of gas was not found in Suleiman-Akhtarma area, resulting in making a decision to eliminate the well.
