Oil refinery Turkmenbashi processed in the first quarter of this year nearly two million tons of raw materials, the plan is executed by 100.1 percent, the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of the country said on Saturday.
"The growth of production was 107 percent, production of various grades of gasoline - 550,000 tons," a statement said.
In recent years, the company was reconstructed in the amount of more than $ 1.6 billion due to the investment of some banks of Europe and Asia. Contract work was carried out by companies of Japan, Turkey, France, Germany, Israel, Iran and others.
In the short term, the refinery will start the construction of installations for the production of benzene, toluene, xylene and their derivatives. Now it produces different types of gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuel, lubricating oil and universal oil, coke.
Turkmenistan plans to increase in 2015capacity of oil refining up to 15 million tons per year, in 2020 - up to 20 million tons, in 2025 - up to 22 million tons, in 2030 - up to 30 million tons.
In accordance with the approved plans, this will be achieved through the construction of three new refineries and upgrading existing plants, including the one in Turkmenbashi and one in Seydi located in the east, where tender winners were determined recently
At the same time, the country annually produces about 10 million tons of oil, much of which is processed at local factories.
