Kazakhstan, Hungary discuss oil and gas cooperation

Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Hungary in the oil and gas sector was discussed in Budapest, deputy chairman of KazEnergy Association, co-chairman of Kazakh-Hungarian Business Council Dzhambulat Sarsenov told Trend.

"Cooperation between the national committees of the two countries within the World Petroleum Council was discussed during a meeting with the vice-president of the World Petroleum Council and chairman of the board of Olajterv oil and gas engineering group, Josef Toth. In particular, Hungary's support and willingness to provide assistance in hosting specialized roundtables on the development of local content in provincial Kazakhstan under the auspices of the World Petroleum Council was discussed," Sarsenov said.

Furthermore, he said, the matter rested in support for Kazakhstan's candidacy to host the World Petroleum Congress in Astana in 2017.

"The current activities of the Hungarian oil company in the Kazakh Fyodorovskoye and the North Karpovsky fields were discussed during the meeting with Hungarian co-chair of Business Council and executive vice-president of MOL Shandor Fasimon," Sarsenov said.

He said the parties agreed on closer cooperation between specialist groups and organizations of the two countries engaged in exploration operations.

"An agreement was reached on the joint study of the possibility of building a factory for medicinal preparations production at the meeting with commercial director of Gedeon Richter, Anders Orosz" Sarsenov added.
