On Wednesday the Minister of Energy of Georgia Kakha Kaladze inspected the Paravani HPP station being constructed by Turkish firm Georgian Urban Energy Ltd in Samtskhe-Javakheti region, South Georgia.
The installed capacity of the plant is 85 MW and the annual electricity output is 420 million kWh. The investment cost of the project is $125 million and 630 people are involved in its construction.
The construction of Paravani HPP began in 2009 and will be completed in 2015.
The investing company will use the energy generated in winter to meet domestic needs and energy generated at other periods will be exported
