JSC National Company KazMunaiGas is set to increase oil reserves to 1.4 billion tons in Kazakhstan by 2022, Director of the Oil and Gas Engineering Development Department of JSC NC KazMunaiGas, Bolat Tashmetov said.
"The company intends to enter the top 30 largest oil and gas companies in the world by 2022 by increasing the reserves of liquid hydrocarbons (oil and condensate) to 1.4 billion tons and oil extraction to 35.4 million tons per year," Tashmetov said at the round table on 'Oil and gas engineering' at the I Forum of Machinery Constructors of Kazakhstan.
He recalled that these goals are prescribed t in the 'Strategy of JSC NC KazMunaiGas for 2012-2022'.
"The key factor in increasing oil production with Kazakh oil will be the large scale oil operations in the Caspian Sea. For this purpose we need equipment, machinery and materials for use in offshore conditions," Tashmetov said.
