Feasibility studies announced for construction of four water power plants in Georgia

The Georgian Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources announced an interest poll for conducting feasibility studies for the construction of four water power plants (WPP).

Turkish company Ahlatci Enerji Sanayi ve Ticaret Limited expressed its interest in the construction of the Dolra WPP-3 on the Dolra River.

The power of the water power plant is 30 MW and its annual output is 124 million kilowatt/hour. The estimated investment cost of the plant is $41.4 million.

Georgian company BG Capital expressed interest in construction of Mestiachala WPP-2 on Mestiachala River.

The capacity of the plant is 27 MW and annual output is 115 million kilowatt/hour. The estimated investment cost is $39.2 million.

Turkish company Calik Enerji is interested in construction of potential water power plants - Alpana WPP and Sadmeli WPP.

The capacity of Alpana WPP is 70 MW with an annual output of 3,565.8 million kilowatt/hour.

The capacity of Sadmeli WPP is currently 153 MW, and annual production is 637.6 million kilowatt/hour. The projected cost of the project is $485 million.

All interested in participating in the tender must submit their applications to the Georgian Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources by 18.00, December 9.
