American General Electric, the Spanish company Grupo Cobra and national JSC Uzbekhydroenergo considered the issue of mutual cooperation in the construction and modernization of hydropower facilities in Uzbekistan, Trend reports via Uzbek media.
A meeting was held at JSC Uzbekhydroenergo between the management of JSC Uzbekhyroenergo, General Electric and Grupo Cobra.
In particular, the parties reviewed the current stage of construction and modernization of hydropower plants (HPP) in Uzbekistan and the possibilities for companies to participate in this process and attract international specialists.
At the meeting, the three parties signed a Memorandum on mutually beneficial cooperation, which is aimed at introducing modern technologies in the process of construction and modernization of hydropower plants.
The Memorandum, which will serve to the development of the hydropower industry in the country, is aimed at cooperation of the parties in matters of technical audit, development of pre-project and project documentation, construction and installation works, equipment upgrades, concept development and feasibility studies for the construction of high-voltage power lines from Tashkent region.
Foreign companies expressed a desire to participate in the form of a consortium in promising projects of Uzbekhydroenergo on the construction of new and modernization of existing hydroelectric power plants.
Earlier, JSC Uzbekhydroenergo and the American company General Electric agreed on the delivery of modern technical equipment for the project Construction of the Pskem Hydroelectric Power Plant.
