Iran's Arya Sasol Polymer Company produces polymer grid for car tanks

Iran’s Arya Sasol Polymer Company has managed to domestically produce a polymer grid of a car tank, the company CEO Amir Hossein Bahreini said at the presentation of the product on the sidelines of the 13th International Exhibition of IranPlast, Trend reports referring to IRNA.

According to him, this grid was previously imported from countries such as Germany and Switzerland.

Bahreini added that Arya Sasol is the only Iranian company possessing the necessary infrastructure for heavy polyethylene production.

"Iran's annual demand for polymer grid products is about 50,000 tons," he said, adding that the production of this product will save Iran $90 million a year.

The CEO went on to say that it could also be used in the production of barrels used for the transportation of various chemicals.

As for the cooperation established by the company, Bahreini said that Arya Sasol will increase its ethylene production by 100,000 tons over the next 2 months with the assistance in designing provided by Germany’s Linde petrochemical company.

According to Bahreini, construction of a 300,000-ton heavy duty polyethylene unit is also underway.

"The company will produce various polymer grids within the next 2 and a half years, and its production of polymer products will reach 2 million tons by 2025," he said.

Bahreini said that $300 million has been invested in polyethylene production.

Moreover, he said that the company has sold 58 trillion rials (app. $1.38 billion) worth of products last Iranian year (March 21, 2018 - March 21, 2019). The net income of the company made up 32.5 trillion rials (app. $773 million).

Bahreini also said that 50 million euros have been invested in the company’s olefin unit, and that production in this unit will reach 1.1 million tons.
