The production of the 42-inch gate valve has begun as part of a crude oil transportation project from Goureh oil terminal in the Bushehr province (southern Iran) to the Jask station on the shores of the Gulf of Oman, Executive Director of Iran’s Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) Touraj Dehghani said, Trend reports citing the company’s official website.

According to Dehghani, this is the first time that gate valve have been produced by local manufacturers in Iran.

Dehghani added that under the Goureh-Jask project, local Iranian local companies will produce 55 large valves, including pumping valves and other valves, and hand them over to the PEDEC by the end of 8th month of current Iranian year (November 20, 2020).

The official said that the production of valves and related equipment will prevent the outflow of about 10 million euros from Iran.

The construction of the 1,000-kilometer Goureh-Jask oil pipeline project worth more than $1.8 billion has been outsourced to local manufacturers and contractors. It is planned to transport 1 million barrels of crude oil per day via the pipeline.

According to the program, the pipeline will be commissioned next year (begins March 21, 2021).

It is also planned to build a 30 million-barrel oil storage facility on 460 hectares at the Iranian Jask oil terminal. As part of this program, a storage facility for 10 million barrels of oil is being built.
