Oil field to be put into operation in Iran

The extraordinary extraction from the Khesht oil field in Iran will be launched in the first half of next Iranian year (from March 21 through September 22, 2021), Executive Director of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC) Ramin Hatami said, Trend reports citing the South Zagros Oil and Gas Production Company’s website.

Hatami stressed that 3 wells will be put into operation in this field in the first half of next Iranian year and the extracted crude oil will be transported to the Nargesi production center via a 10-inch 17-km long pipeline.

The director added that while in the second half of the next Iranian year (September 23, 2020, through March 20, 2022), 20,000 barrels of crude oil will be extracted daily from this field via 5 wells.

The Khesht oil field is located in the territory of the South Zagros Oil and Gas Production Company (SZOGPC), which is a subsidiary of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC). After the field is put into operation, it will be managed by the SZOGPC.

The Khesht oil field is located in the Fars Province (southern Iran). The 82-square-kilometer field was discovered in 1992.
