Azerbaijan discloses volume of gas exported via Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline

Azerbaijan exported 5.9 billion cubic meters of gas via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline from January through April 2021, which is by 51 percent more than in the same period of 2020, Trend reports on May 19 citing a report from the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.

Some 48.1 percent of all gas transported by Azerbaijan accounted for the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline. During the year, this indicator increased by 12.6 percentage points.

Some 12.3 billion cubic meters of gas were transported via the Azerbaijani main pipelines from January through April 2021, which is by 10.8 percent more than in the same period of last year.

The length of the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline is over 700 kilometers. The gas which is produced at the Shah Deniz gas condensate field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea is supplied through the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline. The gas is supplied via the pipeline to Georgia and Turkey.
