Iran's SZOGPC company resumes extraction from Tabnak gas field

Iran's South Zagros Oil & Gas Production Company (SZOGPC) restarted to extraction from Tabnak gas field, as a result of repair work done on well No. 5 of this field, the Head of Technical Department of the SZOGPC, Mahmoud Mirbagheri said, Trend reports citing Iranian Central Oil Fields Company’s website.

According to Mirbagheri, a number of repairs were carried out on well No. 5 of the Tabnak field, including renewed overhead taps, also with 1.4 million cubic meters of daily gas extraction being resumed.

The official added that the repair work was carried out with downhole camera. The manufacturing of downhole cameras was at the disposal of large foreign companies. Recently, it has been manufactured by specialists of the South Zagros Oil and Gas Production Company of Iran.

A downhole video survey allows the real time observation of the integrity of the casting or tubing to find holes, cracks, or corroded areas and the entrance of the produced fluid or leakage points.

The Tabnak gas field is located in the Fars Province (southern Iran). The field reportedly produces about 39.4 million cubic meters of gas per day.

As reported, the South Zagros Oil and Gas Production Company (SZOGPC) are one of three subsidiaries of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC). The South Zagros Oil and Gas Production Company currently has 9 gas fields - Aghar, Dalan, Nar, Kangan, Sarkhoon, Tabnak, Homa, Varavi, Shanol and 2 oil fields - Saadatabad and Sarvestan in operation.
