Kazakhstan cuts fuel and lubricant exports to Georgia

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 23

Georgia’s imports of fuel and lubricants from Kazakhstan in January 2022 amounted to $146,160, which is 6 times less compared to $964,630 over the same period of 2021, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office (Geostat).

The same figure also drastically decreased 11 times compared, to $1.6 million worth of fuel and lubricants imports from Kazakhstan in January 2020.

Thus, Kazakhstan ranked 17 among main fuel and lubricants exporters to Georgia in 2022. Meanwhile, Azerbaijan ranked first with $66.9 million worth of exports, followed by Russia ($26.3 million), and Romania ($19.1 million).

Georgia’s total imports of fuel and lubricants in January 2022 totaled $154.6 million, which is an increase of 59 percent, compared to the same month of 2021 ($97.2 million), and 24.2 percent, compared to January 2020 ($124.4 million).

Meanwhile, Georgia’s total imports in the reporting period of 2022 totaled $778.1 million – an increase of 38.5 percent, compared to $561.7 million over January 2021, and 20.5 percent, compared to the same month of 2020 ($645.4 million).
