BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 14. The construction of a new part of Nain-Kashan-Rey pipeline to transport oil products between Iran's Isfahan and Tehran provinces will be completed in early the 4th month of the current Iranian year (June 22 through July 22, 2022), an official of National Iranian Oil Engineering and Construction Company Mohammad Estaji said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

Currently, two 16- and 20-inch pipelines are used to transport crude oil and related products in direction to Nain-Kashan-Rey.

The official added that in order to increase oil transportation process via the pipeline, the Nain pumping station is being used, as well as 10 oil storage facilities with the total capacity of 300,000 cubic meters have been built.

“With the commissioning of the new phase of the pipeline, the transport capacity of the Nain-Kashan-Rey pipeline will increase to 205,000 barrels per day. At present, the pipeline's transport capacity is 180,000 barrels per day,” he said.

Estaji also noted that the construction of the new part of the pipeline is expected to cost 9 trillion rials (about $214 million). So far, 8 trillion rials (about $190 million) has been spent on the pipeline. There is currently about 97.5 percent physical progress in construction work.

“Thus, oil products transported from Bandar Abbas County of Hormozgan Province to Sirjan County of Kerman Province will be delivered to Tehran Province via a new phase,” he also pointed out.

The official emphasized that the commissioning of the new phase pipeline will allow increase the transportation of oil products, as well as reduce the damage to the environment through safe and sustainable transportation.
