BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 27. Azerbaijan’s gas exports to Türkiye rose by 60 percent in May 2022, as compared to the same month in 2021, and stood at 681 million cubic meters, Trend reports with reference to Türkiye’s Energy Markets Regulatory Authority (EPDK).
The country came in third in terms of natural gas exports to Türkiye during the reporting period.
Russia was the largest exporter of natural gas to Türkiye in May 2022 with more than 1.438 billion cubic meters, a 22.7 percent decrease year-on-year, followed by Iran with 862 million cubic meters, or 0.16 percent more year-on-year.
Türkiye’s overall gas imports rose by 3.6 percent in May 2022 year-on-year and stood at 3.729 billion cubic meters, with 2.982 billion cubic meters accounting for pipeline imports and 747 million cubic meters imported as liquefied natural gas.
Pipeline imports decreased by 5.3 percent, while LNG imports saw a 66.2 percent growth.
