BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug.1. A Wind Energy Power Plant (RES) with an installed capacity of 4.2 megawatts has been commissioned at BOTAŞ Silivri Natural Gas Storage Facility, where the electricity needs will be fully covered by wind energy, Trend reports with reference to the company.

Reportedly, the new wind power plant will prevent 6,400 tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year.

Silivri WPP with annual electricity production capacity of 15 million kilowatt-hours will cover the annual electricity consumption of approximately 5,000 households.

In addition to ISO 50001 Energy Management System and TS ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Systems Standard Certificate, BOTAŞ is the first public institution in Türkiye to receive the 'Green World Ambassador' title.
