The Azerigaz Joint Stock Company (JSC) has installed by now about 295,000 gas meters in Azerbaijan, the Azerigaz deputy chairman Nazim Samadzade told Trend.
According to him, JSC plans to increase this figure up to 306,000 till the year-end. Installation of gas meters in Baku and the country’s regions is performed in parallel. In 2006 Azerigaz plans to install 500,000 gas meters in Azerbaijan.
Purchasing of gas meters is performed within the implementation of the Cabinet of Ministers decree N43 of 8 February 2005.
The Belamo company from Belarus will deliver soon to Azerbaijan the first lot of the G-6 type gas meters. Under the contract the company will supply 30,000 gas meters to JSC. The price of the contract is $840,000. Azerigaz plans to complete installation of gas meters in the country till 2008.
