Tariffs for Electricity Import from Russia to Azerbaijan to be Reconsidered

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Aliyev / The President pf Azerenergy JSC, Etibar Pirverdiyev, said on March 2 that at the end of March JSC intends to reconsider the tariffs for the import of electricity from Russia to Azerbaijan.

The existing agreement for the electricity supply has been intended for 2007. However, the tariffs have been adopted for only first quarter. The electricity from Russia to Azerbaijan is imported in the first quarter according to the tariffs applied in 2006 - 3,636 cent per 1 kVt/h.

The cost of the Azerbaijani electricity for Russia has been increased from 1.58 cent to 1.8 cent per 1 kVt/h.
