Uzbekistan increases gold exports

Uzbekistan exported over $1 billion worth of gold in January through February 2020, Trend reports citing Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

Growth in exports of gold compared to January through February 2019 was 81.7 percent. The share of gold in the structure of Uzbekistan's exports during January through February 2020 made 38.2 percent.

Uzbekistan has increased exports of gold in recent years, the message said. The volume of gold exports in 2015 exceeded $823.9 million, in 2016 - $738.2 million, in 2017 - $1.6 billion, in 2018 - $2.91 billion, and in 2019 - $4.92 billion.

The official gold and foreign exchange reserves at the beginning of 2020 amounted to $29.1 billion. International reserves amounted to $28.6 billion.

Uzbekistan's reserves are mainly distributed between US dollars ($12.4 billion) and gold ($16.3 billion).
