The consumer price index in Azerbaijan this year will amount to 2.7 percent of GDP, Trend reports with reference to the reporting data of the Standard & Poor's (S&P) Global Ratings.
According to the data, this indicator implies a decrease by 0.1 percentage points, as in 2020 inflation in Azerbaijan amounted to 2.8 percent.
In 2022, the consumer price index in Azerbaijan will accelerate again and reach 2.9 percent in the structure of GDP, and in 2023 and 2024 it will be at 2.6 and 2.7 percent, respectively. Thus, the average inflation rate in the country will make up 2.7 percent until 2024, said the S&P statistical report.
Earlier Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Elman Rustamov announced primary forecasts of inflation in the country for 2021 at the level of 3.6-4 percent.
