Monetary policy in Azerbaijan this year will be aimed at controlling inflation, which at the same time will support economic recovery, ‘Asian Development Outlook 2021’ report of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) said, Trend reports on Apr.28.
At the same time, ADB forecasted an increase in broad money supply in Azerbaijan (M3) as a result of the continued provision of fiscal stimuli and growth in lending to the private sector.
According to the bank’s experts, the exchange rate should remain stable, since as a result of the reformation of the trade surplus, pressure will be exerted on the national currency.
To maintain an adequate level of liquidity, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) will conduct a thorough monitoring of the currency market and CBA auctions on the placement of short-term bonds, added the report.
