The average monthly nominal salary of employees in Baku amounted to 927.1 manat ($545.3) from January through March 2021, having decreased by 9.4 percent compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan.
Reportedly, from January through February 2021, the average monthly nominal salary of employees in Baku amounted to 899.7 manat ($529.2).
In 2020, this figure increased by 6.9 percent compared to 2019 and amounted to 927.2 manat ($545.4), the committee stated.
Thanks to the comprehensive social reforms carried out on the basis of relevant instructions of the president of Azerbaijan, the minimum salary in the country increased to 250 manat ($147), which significantly affected the salaries of civil servants, employees of a number of budgetary institutions, enterprises and organizations, and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).
